Overview
Qualified professional mechanical engineer having experience in both industry and academia. Strong engineering research skills in stress analysis, composites, adhesive technology and healthcare technologies.
Key Achievements
- Increased multi discipline research links in health and mechanical engineering
- Innovation in centrifugal fan design with possible associated patents.
- Developed a new rapid test method to quantify the durability performance of adhesives. This was subsequently used in a national adhesive test programme.
- Significant decrease in mass of TVAF6 core fan range leading to increased company profit margin
My current research activities are to re-establish my research career and thus I have been applying for grants from external funding bodies and collaborating with the health school at UWS on a number of undergraduate and post graduate projects. Previous publications can be supplied on request. (Total Outputs during period 1990 - 2000 are: 9 refereed Journals, 20 Conferences, 2 book contributions and 4 Research Reports to Industrial sponsors.)
