Personal profile
Overview
From a background in both electrical engineering and audio engineering, I am working within the field of Music Technology, Acoustics and psychoacoustics, where my primary focus is developing interdisciplinary pedagogical methods for subjects such as Spatial audio, Ambisonic post-production and Acoustics analysis.
Area of academic expertise - outline
- Higher Education: Interdisciplinary Pedagogical Methodology (Problem Based Learning and Cognitive Load Theory).
- Translation, multimodality and cognition: Immerisve Audio systems and perceptual experiences.
Current research activities
I am currently working with AVID Pro Tools Cloud Collaboration and international colleagues to develop working industry modelled projects for students and evaluating impact on higher-level cognitive development.
Other areas of expertise available for knowledge exchange
I am an AVID Pro Tools Certified Instructor and have previously designed, installed and commissioned audio production studio systems and provided staff training and CPD.
Desired research direction
Spatial audio technology implementation for music and VR: Immersive systems design and ambisonic post-production for developemental listener experiences.
