Personal profile

Overview

My research interests relate to educational and developmental psychology with a focus on inequalities, diversity, and inclusion. I have expertise in the educational inclusion of neurodiverse groups such as those with Autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities. I examine teacher, parental and sibling beliefs, unconscious bias and inclusive policy and practice. I also explore the social inclusion of neurodivergent children. These studies investigate what might enhance social relationships and decreases negative experiences.

Current research activities

I currently have a number of ongoing collaborative projects;

1. Girls with ADHD school experience and wellbeing

2. Trauma-informed care in schools for children with intellectual disability

3. The intersectionality between neurodiversity and financial hardship

Desired research direction

I am interested in developing school interventions which help drive successful inclusion within education settings.
