Personal profile

Overview

I am a Psychologist with experience in Applied Cognitive Psychology in areas of Health, Forensics and Transition to Higher Education.  My work spans a wide range of behavioural & methodological techniques to understand people's behaviours.  I trained as an experimental Psychologist and use many of those techniques in my current work, though I have publication using survey and qualitative methodologies.

Current research activities

Recent projects have focused on 4 main themes, engagement with exercise prescriptions, the social cognitive pre-determinants of exercise engagement, the implicit attitudes and beliefs about exercise, healthy food consumption and innovative methods of measurement and interventions.

Desired research direction

The goal of my research is to understand what motivates us to engage in a healthy lifestyle.  As the research continues I wish to build an evidence base of work that can assist multidisciplinary teams to plan, design and evaluate interventions for those on journeys toward healthy living.
