Area of academic expertise - outline

Currently Senior Lecturer Learning and Teaching in the School of Business and Creative Industries. I started working at UWS in June 2016 as an Early Career Lecturer in Management, Strategy and Leadership.

I have been Programme Leader of the MSc International Managment, Link Tutor for a TNE partner, and am currently Chair of the School Teaching and Learning Advisory Group and Co-Chair of both the Engagment Panel and Plagiarism Panel.

I also represent the School on Senate Disciplinary Committee, Education Advisory Committee and Student Partnership Forum. I am a member of the British Academy of Management, and a Senior Fellow of Advance HE.

My current research focus is on employability and labour markets (continuing my PhD research) and I am currently PI with a Third Sector mKTP in this area. I am interested more broadly in enterprise, organisational change and social value and currently developing research outputs with colleagues in these areas.

I am also starting to develop research on the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching and have some pilot projects in the pipeline relating to training Programme Leaders, and MBA Group Supervision.

Current research activities

I am involved in research projects focusing on third sector entrepreneurship, decent work and employablity. 

I currently supervise Doctoral study on topics including: decent work, employee engagement, and change management.

Desired research direction

My desired research direction is to develop further research on work in Scotland, particularly around the quality of work and access to work.
