Overview
Dr. Shrestha is a Lecturer in Accounting at the University of the West of Scotland. He completed his PhD in Accounting and Finance from the Centre for Financial and Corporate Integrity at Coventry University. His doctoral research focused on addressing critical intersections between corporate social responsibility (CSR), financial performance, and risk management.
Since 2016, Dr. Shrestha has been delivering accounting and finance modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His teaching portfolio spans management accounting, financial management, and corporate finance. His dedication to teaching is rooted in his passion for sharing knowledge and practical experience and inspiring students to think critically about the evolving role of accounting in business and society.
Prior to his academic career, Dr. Shrestha worked for several years in accounting and finance roles, both in the UK and internationally. His professional background includes management accounting and financial reporting positions, which inform his teaching and research. Dr. Shrestha also holds graduate membership of CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) and is exam-qualified, further enhancing his expertise in accounting and finance.
His research interests include sustainable finance, corporate governance, financial distress risk, institutional investors, policy evaluation, IFRS, and earnings management.
