Area of academic expertise - outline

My name is Antonio Dello Iacono, and I am a Senior Lecturer in Strength and Conditoning at the Schhol of Sscience and Sport of the University of The West of Scotland. Since 2011. I have been dedicating my professional and research interests to:

- Integrated training methodologies at elite level
- Performance profiling and analysis in team sports 
- Training load assessment and monitoring
- Applicability of technology in sport

Current teaching activities and interests

I coordinate and teach modules in the wide area of Strength & Conditioning in Sports and Exercise.

The professional expertise I have gained in the last 15 years reguards both team sports and individual disciplines

I have also a Biomechanics and Motion analysis background helping me in understanding the mechanical mechanisms underlying human performance

Desired research direction

In the coming years I am interested to carry out applied research projects with the main objective to produce applicable and transferable knowledge thus bridge the gaps between the evidnce-based and the best-practice approaches and helping academics and practitioners in communicating and collaborating on mutual interest and goals
