Area of academic expertise - outline

My name is Antonio Dello Iacono, and I am a Senior Lecturer in Strength and Conditoning at the School of Health and Life Sciences at the University of The West of Scotland. Since 2011, I have been dedicating my professional and research interests to:

- Integrated training methodologies aimed at athletic performance enhanchment
- Performance profiling and analysis in team sports 
- Training load assessment and monitoring
- Use of technology in sport
 
 

Current teaching activities and interests

I coordinate and teach modules in the fields of Strength & Conditioning in Sports and Exercise.

The professional expertise I have developed in the last 15 years regards both team sports and individual disciplines

I have also a Biomechanics and Motion analysis background helping me understanding the mechanistic mechanisms underlying human performance

Desired research direction

I am interested to carry out applied research projects with the main objective to produce applicable and transferable knowledge bridging the gaps between the evidnce-based and the best-practice approaches and helping academics and practitioners to efficiently communicate and collaborate on mutual interest and goals
