Anne has recently been appointed to lead on international business development for the School of Media, Culture & Society. Her key responsibilities include the development of international partnerships, recruitment of international students, internationalizing the curriculum and promoting outward mobility for students and staff. She has worked for many years in Education in a variety of roles and taught a variety of courses in Language, Literature and Cultural Theory. She has extensive experience in curriculum design and has led on the development of new programmes for creative and cultural industries.
Anne has established UWS as a centre for excellence in Creative Media Education. She was a member of the academic team who established the University’s media portfolio in 1996. Since then, provision has grown from a single programme, BA (Hons) Media Theory & Production, to a suite of programmes in Art, Broadcasting, Film, Journalism, Music and Performance which have achieved multiple professional accreditations.
Anne is committed to partnership and working collaboratively. She is keen to develop new ways of working with the creative and cultural sector in Scotland. The School has a base in the Centre for Contemporary Art in Glasgow form where they deliver a Masters in Music Innovation and Entrepreneurship, has an office in Film City Glasgow where they work with a range of film and TV production companies, and have established Scotland’s first 'Learning Theatre' in partnership with Ayr Gaiety Theatre.
Anne is a member of the Creative Skillset Network of Excellence Advisory Board, serves on Creative Skillset's UK Research Council and is a member of the Scottish Drama Training Network management team.
