Area of academic expertise - outline
I am interested in the impacts of major events on host communities, particularly focussing on the harms perpetrated by events, particularly sport mega-events like the Olympic Games. I am interested in the negative impact on local communities and how these are contested and resisted.
Current research activities
I am currently developing research projects exploring transnational resistance to the Olympic Games and the human rights impacts of mega-events.
Current teaching activities and interests
I teach across postgraduate and undergraduate event courses, covering topics such as event policy, critical event studies and research methods
