Current research activities

I am currently working on a number of projects:

−     "The Relationships between Reporting Format, Environmental Disclosure and Environmental Performance: an Empirical Study"- in the review process

−     “Measuring the quality of environmental disclosure: A closer look from information characteristics"-work in process

−     “Comparison study between China and Europe on reporting on Assurance"-work in process.

−     I have submitted a research bid in June 2016 titled “Determining the Scale, Spatial Distribution & Potential Economic Contribution of Micro-Enterprises in Egypt’s Informal Food Sector”, £254,683, Institutional Links Grants, Collaboration grant with the British University in Egypt.

Desired research direction

−     Will carry on with corporate social responsibility but will more focus on entrepreneurship and small business in developing countries (the new research bid).

−     I have started collaborating with UWS Colleagues from different schools in a project titled “Managing Big Live Data” and this might be the start of long term collaboration with researchers from other disciplines.

−     Will do more research on accounting education.

Target collaborative companies

As part of my role as a programme leader of the MSc finance and Accounting with CIMA, I always invite guest speakers from SMEs and from other companies. Also I am working closely with the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA) and will try in the near future to network with the companies they are dealing with.

Target collaborative organisations

As part of my recent research fund application, I have established networking with British University in Egypt and I think this will be the start of long term collaboration.
