UWS academics making major contribution at international conference

Professor Katarzyna Kosmala of University of the West of Scotland’s School of Media, Culture and Society is set to play a key role at an international conference, Solidarity, Memory and Identity at the University of Gdansk next month.

The conference, running from Thursday 15 to Friday 16 September, will see Professor Kosmala chairing the conference’s research paper session entitled Dialogical approaches to the Solidarity movement and memories of Solidarity which will explore themes of solidarity in relational terms.

Coinciding with this event Professor Kosmala’s new book, Precarious Spaces: Art, Social and Organizational Change (Chicago University Press and Intellect), which is already been very critically well-received, will be officially launched on 15 September at the event.
