Industrial collaborations are of great importance to universities, businesses, and to society. Despite the mutual benefits for all stakeholders, it is not always easy to forge these relationships. In this panel discussion, we explore ways to bridge the cultural divide between industry and universities and the challenges of developing effective collaborations. Panellists will also discuss the benefits and the barriers to industrial collaboration, the rôle of universities and industry as well as their experiences. In the talk ‘Leadership in Industry Collaborations’ Dr Kae Reynolds will showcase the flagship programme for Innovate UK facilitating UKHEI-Business collaborations and highlight the activities, esteem, and impact of the University of the West of Scotland’s Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP). She will also explain how Higher Education (in comparison to business consultancies) contributes to business/organisational success, economic growth, public sector improvement, provide an overview of the process of establishing KTPs.Period | Mar 2023 |
