Description

A group of technical experts that advises the trustees of the Fossil Grove Trust on technical matters relating to the stewardship and conservation of Fossil Grove in Victoria Park, Glasgow. Fossil Grove is an exhibit of a petrified forest of Carboniferous age (c. 330 million years old) that was discovered and preserved by the erection of an exhibition building in the late 19th century. Fossil Grove is owned and administered by Glasgow City Council. The Trust administers a fund established by commercial donation 1989 with the aim of improving the building in which the fossils are housed, extending the facility and using the Fossil Grove as a basis for education and the expansion of information on fossils and related matters.
