Area of research expertise - Outline

My current research involves the social organisation of dementia (especially amongst younger adults).  Within that, I have particular interests in digital technology and dementia, the use of creative methodologies and the application of critical posthumanism to dementia policy and practice.

Current research activities.

Prof David McGillivray and I are currently conducting an evaluation of the Action Learning Sets and Making Digital Work/Everday training programmes, which were delivered as part of the SCVO's One Digital Initiative.

I am also working on a monograph relating to dementia and critical posthumanism as well as a comparative analysis of the construction of citizenship within contemporary dementia policy

Desired research direction.

I am looking to conduct research into the relationship between digital technologies, selfhood and dementia within western care systems.
